Home Theater Installation in Houston

A theater is the one room in the house where everything has to work together: video, audio, acoustics, lighting, seating sightlines and control. We design and install dedicated cinema rooms and multi-purpose media rooms across Houston, Dallas, Austin and San Antonio, handling everything from the initial layout drawing to the final calibration pass.

Whether you're converting a game room in Dallas, finishing out a media room in a new Austin build, or upgrading an aging setup inside the Loop, we start with how you actually watch — movies, sports, gaming — and engineer the room around it rather than pushing a package.

What a Meshlab theater project includes

Room design & engineering

Screen size and seating distance math, speaker placement, acoustic treatment recommendations and equipment rack planning before anything is purchased.

Projection & display

4K projector and screen pairing sized to your room's light conditions, or large-format TV installation with concealed wiring and articulating mounts.

Surround sound

5.1 through Dolby Atmos speaker layouts — in-wall, in-ceiling or freestanding — with amplification matched to the room volume.

Calibration & control

Video calibration, audio room correction, and a single remote or keypad that runs the whole room: sources, lights, shades and volume.

Our approach to equipment

We're not tied to one brand. We spec projectors, receivers and speakers from established manufacturers with real parts and support channels, and we're upfront about where spending more actually changes what you see and hear — and where it doesn't. Every rack we build is wired, labeled and documented so any tech (ours or not) can service it years later.

Most theaters also lean on the rest of the house: dimmed scenes from a lighting control system for movie night, and a solid home network so 4K streaming never buffers mid-scene.

Why professional installation matters

The gap between a good theater and a frustrating one usually isn't the equipment — it's placement, wiring and calibration. Speakers installed at the wrong height, a projector fighting ambient light, or an HDMI run that drops signal at 4K/120 will undermine any budget. We handle load-rated mounting, in-wall cabling to code, proper ventilation for equipment closets, and a calibrated end result you can operate with one button.

Serving Houston, Dallas, Austin and San Antonio

We build theaters and media rooms throughout Houston, Dallas, Austin and San Antonio — in both new construction (pre-wire stage is the cheapest time to call us) and finished homes using existing attic and wall access.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a home theater cost in Houston?
Media room upgrades with a large TV and surround sound typically start around $5,000–$15,000 installed. Dedicated theaters with projection, acoustic treatment and automated control commonly run $25,000–$75,000+. We'll scope options against your budget before you commit to anything.
Can you work in a finished room, or only new construction?
Both. Pre-wire during construction is ideal, but we retrofit finished rooms every week using attic access, fishing walls and low-profile in-wall speakers. We patch and leave the room paint-ready.
Projector or big-screen TV?
It depends on the room. Light-controlled rooms 12 feet or deeper favor projection for true cinema scale; bright or multi-use rooms often do better with an 85–100 inch TV. We measure your room and show you the trade-offs.
Do you calibrate the system after installation?
Yes. Every theater we install gets video calibration and audio room correction as part of the project — that final pass is often the biggest single improvement in picture and sound quality.
